Né à Lodz, en Pologne, Milosz Magin (photo) poursuivit ses études (piano, composition et direction d'orchestre) dans son pays natal et les acheva en obtenant la plus haute distinction à l'Ecole Supérieure de Musique de Varsovie. Sa brillante carrière de pianiste commmença après qu'il eut remporté des prix à plusieurs concours internationaux : Concours Chopin à Varsovie, Concours Long-Thibaud à Paris, Concours Viana da Motta à Lisbonne.Magin se fait connaître dans de nombreux pays d'Europe ainsi qu'outre-mer en tant que grand interprète de Chopin dont il enregistre l'intégrale pour la société Decca. Fixé à Paris, Magin poursuit également sa carrière de compositeur.Auteur de brillantes pièces pour piano, de concertos pour piano et orchestre, d'oeuvres symphoniques et concertos pour clarinette et violoncelle, ses oeuvres éditées et enregistrées sont actuellement au répertoire des plus grands interprètes. Magin et Bodak se rencontrent fréquemment pour parler des interprétations des compositions de Magin. Magin a dédié à Bodak sa Quatrième Sonate pour piano et le Quatrième concerto pour piano et orchestre.
Fondateur en 1985 du Concours International de Piano Milosz Magin, il se consacre aujourd'hui à la découverte de jeunes talents internationaux.

Born in Lodz in 1929, Magin studied piano and composition at the State School of Music in Warsaw, graduated with honors in 1953 (piano) and received a diploma in composition in 1957. Magin studied with Professer M Trombini- Kazuro, Z Drzewiecki, J Maklakiewicz and K Sikorski. He began his career as solo pianist in Warsaw. Upon receiving prizes at International Competitions (Marguerite Long- Jacques Thibaud in Paris, Vianna da Motta in Lisbon) Magin appeared in concerts in England, Portugal, Germany, Brasil and countries of Africa where he carried off a rousing success.
Magin made Paris his home in 1960 joining the Rachmaninoff Conservatory where he conducts a Class in piano. Three years later following a car accident in which he injured his hand, Milosz Magin gave up the piano to which he returned after years of medical treatment. In that time Magin devoted himself to composition and together with his wife (a choreographer) organized a Polish Folk Ensemble which appeared in France and Switzerland.
His main compositions are : 4 Sonatas for piano (the Fourth sonata is dedicated to Bodak) 4 piano concertos (the Fourth Concerto is dedicated to Bodak), 2 string concertos, cello concerto and Stabat Mater for string orchestra and timpani.
Milosz Magin is appearing in concert again. He has given many recitals in Roma and was under contract with Decca to record the complete works of Chopin. He plays in Paris, Poland and others countries.
In 1985, he founded the International Competition of Piano Milosz Magin, in Paris.
Milosz Magin is died 4 march 1999.
